What We Do

Melhor exists to serve people. Our company maintains and supports a culture of quality services that is built on strengths, and that balances risks to support community integration and employment for people enrolled in the DDS Medicaid Waiver Program. As a person-centered company, we pay attention to the needs and the personal desires (outcomes) of the people we support.

Melhor’s service delivery system therefore ensures that supports and services are integrated, person centered and outcome oriented. The personal outcomes we develop and implement are connected to DDS’s foundation in person-centered thinking. Achieving these outcomes require Melhor staff, volunteers and contractors to understand who each person is, what is most important to them, and how we support and prioritize their needs.

How we work

  • 1. Admission

    We accept waiver participants through DDS referrals based on our ability to help them achieve their personal outcomes.

  • 2. Skills and Interests Assessment

    We determine what the person likes and what they are able to do so that we can identify the areas they will need our help to develop.

  • 3. Development of Care Plan

    We work with the person’s circle of support to develop their plan of care and the appropriate ways to implement the plan.

  • 4. Provide Staffing Support

    We engage in matching persons with staff members who are best suited to help them to achieve their goals.

  • 5. Monitor Service Delivery

    Through our robust quality assurance program we perform periodic assessments on how we are delivering services to the people we support.
